Egerton University is hosting a five-day Kenya National Research Festival 2025. The festival held in collaboration with the National Research Fund (NRF) started on August 18, 2025 and will run uptown August 22, 2025.
Under the theme of "Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture,” Nakuru County had the honor of hosting the event, which sparked a strong appeal to change the agricultural landscape of Kenya.

He highlighted the festival’s significance as a platform for presenting innovative solutions and fostering collaboration among researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders, highlighting agricultural sustainability as the foundation of food security.
“By working closely with farmers, we can turn their traditional knowledge into scalable solutions that will increase climate resilience and guarantee that all Kenyans have access to wholesome food," he said.

By laying the groundwork for a week of ground-breaking talks and solutions to address food insecurity and climate challenges, he commended Nakuru County and Egerton University for organizing the event and highlighting the government's dedication to promoting research-driven projects to improve food production and resilience.
Representing his larger vision for research as a catalyst for agricultural transformation, Agriculture and Livestock Development Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, who was unable to attend the event, delivered a message highlighting the transformative power of research and innovation in agriculture and stressing the significance of safeguarding platforms such as the festival.
